The panel does not appear in the sidebar

Reload the ChatGPT or Gemini tab. After the extension is installed or updated, tabs that were already open keep running the old version until they reload. If it still does not appear, the site may have changed its layout; email us with a screenshot and we will ship a fix.

Search only finds exact words

Semantic search needs the bundled model to load once, which takes a few seconds the first time after Chrome starts. Open the options page (right-click the ChatJump icon, then Options) and press "Test model". If it reports the model is missing, reinstall the extension from the store.

"Saved N turns (may be incomplete)"

Very long chats are not fully loaded by the site until you scroll up. Scroll to the top of the conversation, wait for older messages to load, then press "Save this chat" again. The larger capture is kept.

The keyboard shortcut does nothing

The default is Ctrl+Shift+Space (Cmd+Shift+Space on Mac). Change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts if another extension or your system uses it. The Search button in the panel always works.

A folder I created on one tab is missing on another

The panel refreshes when a tab comes back into view. Click into the other tab and the folder appears; if not, reload that tab.

Importing conversations.json fails

Pick the conversations.json file from the ZIP ChatGPT emailed you (Settings, Data controls, Export data), not the ZIP itself. Very large files are read in one go and can take a minute.

How do I delete everything?

Options page, "Clear all ChatJump data". Uninstalling the extension removes the data as well. Nothing is stored anywhere but your device.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. See the privacy policy. ChatJump makes no network requests at all.

Will Claude or Grok be supported?

They are planned. ChatGPT and Gemini are supported today.
