ChatJump is a Chrome extension that adds folders, local search and export for your own ChatGPT and Gemini conversations.
What ChatJump reads
ChatJump reads the content of a conversation on chatgpt.com or gemini.google.com only when you press "Save this chat", and the titles in the sidebar only when you press "Save sidebar list". It reads what the page already shows you. It never signs in on your behalf and never calls ChatGPT or Gemini servers.
Where the data goes
Everything ChatJump stores stays on your device, in the extension's own storage in your browser: saved conversations, folders, tags, and the search index built from your conversations by a language model that runs inside the extension. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. ChatJump has no server, no account and no analytics.
Network activity
ChatJump makes no network requests. The search model and its runtime are bundled with the extension. Your conversations are never uploaded for indexing.
Imports and exports
When you import a ChatGPT data export, the file is parsed on your device and stored the same way. Exports are saved as files to your computer and contain only the conversations you chose.
Deleting your data
The options page has "Clear all ChatJump data", which removes everything the extension stored. Uninstalling the extension also removes it.
Permissions
storageandunlimitedStorage: keep your conversations and index on the device.offscreen: run the local search model.- Access to chatgpt.com and gemini.google.com: show the panel and read the conversation you asked to save.
- One keyboard shortcut to open search, which you can rebind.
